About Tropic Powerboat Rentals

Captain Bob has been in the boating industry for many years in 10 years in Alaska and 28 years locally (as owner/operator of the "Motor Yacht Cinnamon Bay" and, in his early years the "Midnight Sun" as an avid dive instructor). In that time Bob has learned the local waters like the palm of his hand! He can share that knowledge with you and help you plan a truly memorable day on the water. Bob has “downsized” from our former multi passenger boat to the smaller size and higher speed of the Glacier Bay which affords a more personally tailored excursion with many more destination opportunities.

Captain Bob and Lisa are hospitality experts. Working as a team for over 28 years in the VI, Lisa handles villa accommodations while Bob accommodates guests on the water.

Our current vessel is “Tropicat” a 2007 26 foot Glacier Bay. She has twin “green” (environmentally friendly) 4 stroke Yamaha outboards for great dependability,fuel economy and low emissions (generally burning 20-35 gals per day, depending on destination).

Our goal is for you to have the safest, top of the line charter boat for your vacationing pleasure. Tropic Power Boats may be rented with or without guides although our “bareboat” rental requirements are stringent, and considerable local experience is necessary. If you do not meet those requirements we have a select list of approved guides for hire and leave the driving to us! All our guides are professionals on the water and have years of local knowledge .
